On October 24, 2022, the 1970s recreation continued in narrow gauge country. Following a weekend of snow, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad ran their commemorative "Toltec Rattler Redux." This event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the railroad's first photo freight, from Chama to Big Horn and return. While temperatures were mostly in the 20s and low 30s all day, the light was great and the snow provided a beautifully unique setting for this special event.
